Projection mapping – University Museum of Bergen at 200

The University Museum of Bergen celebrated its 200th anniversary in 2025, and the University of Bergen invited everyone to a public celebration on Muséplassen, with a spectacular light show!

In truly stormy weather, no fewer than 15,000 Bergen residents came out to see the light show, which began with the building being transformed into a timeline of 200 years of history, before light art with specially composed music was projected onto the building. The show then toured the museum's collections, with everything from insects crawling over the building to sharks splashing across the façade, before finally heading out into space.

The first time: 2018

When the University Museum reopened after several years of renovation, the reopening was marked with a spectacular projection-mapping show on the vast building. We developed the idea and concept, which became a 12-minute show telling the story of the museum. We brought in technical equipment from Germany to carry out the project, which is the largest projection mapping ever staged in Norway.
